(Copy 1) ?17th-century calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with triple blind fillets to form a border. Spine with six raised bands, decorated with gilt fillets and titling over red label ("Brooke catalogu[e] of honou[r]"). Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of undecorated laid paper; one flyleaf at both ends of the textblock.

Binding

(Copy 2) ?18th-century calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with double blind fillets to form a border; gilt fillet on board edges. Spine (possibly the 17th-century original) with five raised bands, decorated with gilt roll, tools, and titling over red label ("Brooke -- Succession of kings, princes, etc."). Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of undecorated paper; five flyleaves at the upper end of the textblock, one at the lower end.

Binding

(Copy 3) 17th century calf binding with blind and gold fillets to form concentric frames on boards; gold diamond-shaped centrepiece; red edges; five raised bands with gold tooling and titling on spine; two additional flyleaves at beginning and end of book; rebacked and restored.
