late 18th/19th-century armorial binding -- red morocco over mill/pasteboards. Covers decorated with gilt rolls to form a border; the centrepiece is a coat of arms with motto "sub libertate ovietem [sic]" -- probably Burrell's; gilt rolls on board edges and turn-ins. Spine flat, decorated with gilt fillets, tools and titling ("The Thymbriad"). Textblock trimmed and gilted. Endpapers of marbled (pastedowns and facing flyleaves) and undecorated paper; three flyleaves at both ends of the textblock.
