Covers decorated with gilt fillets to form a border and a panel with tools at the outer corners; front cover bears the arms of James Edwin Millard; gilt transversal fillets on board edges; gilt fillets on turn-ins. Spine flat, decorated with gilted fillets, tools, and titling ("De unica Magdalena"; "1519"). Textblock trimmed and gilted. Endpapers of marbled (pastedowns and facing flyleaves) and undecorated paper; two flyleaves at both ends of the textblock.
