?18th-century polished calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with triple gilt fillets to form a border with floral tools at the corners; gilt fillets on board edges; gilt roll on turn-ins. Spine flat, decorated with gilt rolls and titling ("Le blason"). Textblock trimmed and gilted. Endpapers of marbled (pastedowns and facing flyleaves) and undecorated laid paper; two flyleaves at both ends of the textblock.
Ruling grid and border in red ink; that on the title page is in gold. Handpainted red initials on the title page; red paint strokes added to capitals throughout the text. Handpainted cartouches and coats of arms.
Cartouche on title page has "A Aubry" printed in it in blackletter.
Faded ms. notes at the bottom of title page -- illegible.
