(Copy 1) Ex dono label of Joseph Frederick Burrell, dated 1983, on front pastedown. 17th-century ms. notes on front flyleaf and half title respectively: "Antonii Sangallo Coneglanensis"; "Guesto libro e di Carlo Menegelo di cagiolo in conediano 1697"; the latter inscription is partially erased, but the name appears again in a note on the last leaf. Hand-drawn coat of arms with motto "i gatti cadono sempre in piedi" on front flyleaf.

(Copy 2) Ex dono label of Joseph Frederick Burrell, dated 1983, on front pastedown. Ms. note in his hand reads: "Bought in Venice, Sep. 1950".

(Copy 1) ?Early modern laced-case vellum over pasteboards. Covers undecorated. Spine flat with two sewing supports, ink titling has faded. Textblock trimmed but uneven. Endpapers of undecorated paper; one flyleaf at the upper end of the textblock, none at the lower end.

(Copy 2) Early modern laced-case vellum over pasteboards. Covers undecorated. Spine with three raised bands, decorated with ink titling ("Giuoco d'armi"). Textblock trimmed and sprinkled red and ?brown. Endpapers of undecorated laid paper; one flyleaf at both ends of the textblock.
