Devised title. 18th-century handwritten school manual containing rules and exercises in Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Planimetry and Accounts. There are also parts in the volume dedicated to solar eclipses and scientific tools. At the end, are songs and psalms. The manual was probably prepared by a private tutor to instruct the son of a noble family in the 1740s.

Most probably the student was John Davis who wrote his name throughout the ms (f. 14r, 14v, 27r, 28v 'John Davis's book 1741', 29r '1741', 32r, 33r 'John Davis's book 1741/2', 38r 'John Davis's book 1742', 52r 'J. Davis book 1742').
