Scope and content: Inner front cover: "Plan of the exhibition. By way of introductiona small preliminary display presents a synopsis of the story--that is, of the tradition of the theatreuntil the advent of historical setting and costuming, giving us on the one hand 'Shakespeare in modern dress' and on the other, a few special traditional costumes. The rest of the material is arranged chronologically, save for one section devoted to a single play, Macbeth, which gives us, as it were, the whole exhibition in microcosm."
