Summary: C. D'O. Gowan was an assistant master at Eton 1932-1970 (house master at Cotton Hall House 1947-1964), teaching modern languages. During the Second World War he became an intelligence officer on Montgomery's staff in the Middle East and in Europe. He was based in Berlin for around 6 months from July 1945.
