Red goatskin over pasteboards, tooled in gold; larger leafy roll within two smaller border rolls; the centre panel divided into compartments by double fillets; the compartments filled with dots, stars and heraldic elements of the papal coat of arms (a mountain of six peaks topped with a star, a three and a star); at the centre the arms of Alexander VII; gold tooled edges of boards, turn-ins and spine; marbled pastedowns; repaired.
