Decoration: opening initials in gold incorporating intricate floral borders, five pages within gold and richly illuminated borders including fine watercolour landscapes scenes.
On the colophon: "This manuscript Elegy, written in a country churchyard by Thomas Gray was designed, written out and illuminated by Sister Mary Gertrude Cameron for Messrs. R. Riviere & Son London. This Manuscript will not be duplicated".
16 lines per full page, written in an upright semi-roman cursive script in black.
White silk between pages.

Contemporary green morocco; covers with outer borders of onlaid red morocco gilt strapwork forming compartments; these compartments are filled with flowers and leaves of onlaid red and black morocco; similar floral decoration on spine (with gold titling) and the turn-ins; red silk pasted on the pastedowns and first flyleaf; two additional flyleaves at the beginning and end of volume. The volume is in a blue cloth portfolio. With slipcase.
