Format: single sheet.
Scope and content: Undated letter addressed to Mr Brīdīl (unidentified), presumably of the East India Company, from an Indian (who appears to be a merchant) asking for "two words of recommendation" for himself to General Law Sāhib (unidentified). It consists of the usual flowery compliments of the Persian epistolary style.
Origin: India?
Provenance: removed from Tianxia shanhai tu, a 17th-century Chinese atlas (ECL MS 376). This was bequeathed to Eton College by Richard Topham in 1736.
