Both volumes are 19th-century quarter-bound cloth and leather over ?millboards. Covers decorated with blind fillets to separate the two materials. Spine with five raised bands; plate book is undecorated while the supplement has gilt fillets and titling ("Illustrations of dissections"; "Ellis and Ford" ; "Text"). Endpapers of marbled and undecorated paper; two flyleaves at both ends of the textblock. Platebook is kept in a beige cloth bag.
