The present edition matches ESTC R210318 (to judge by the reproductions available). In this edition the date on the title-page is given as "An. Dom. 1649.", final line and catchword on A4r are "futuræ Calamitatis gradum" and "sic", leaves A1 and A4 are unsigned and the pagination runs to 228. The other two editions are as follows: 1), printed by William Dugard, the title-page date is given as in the present edition, the final line and catchwords on A4r are "ipsos, Finémque (si fu-" and "turæ". leaf A1 is signed "A", leaf A4 is unsigned, with errata on A6v, and the paginaton runs to 224; and 2), printed by John Grismond, the title-page date is given as "An. Do. 1649", the final line and catchword on A4r are "ter nostris interesse" and "dis-", leaf A1 is unsigned, leaf A4 is signed and the pagination runs to 228.
Madan says "I have not identified the printer" of this edition (Madan p. 139), but later identified him as Francis Leach.
The imprint is fictitious. The work was printed in London in 1649 in three different editions by printers of the "Eikon basilike", William Dugard, Francis Leach and John Grismond. The publisher named with initials in the imprint is Richard Royston, the publisher of the "Eikon basilike" (cf. Madan).
"A. 2455" appears on the title-page in place of an epigram.
Signatures: A⁶ B-K¹² L⁶ (A1 blank).
The first leaf is blank.
