Late 16th or early 17th century dark brown calf over pasteboard, sewn on five alum-tawed supports; if bound in England, then possibly Oxford. On both covers, an outer frame of blind triple fillets (thin-thick-thin) intersecting at corners; board edges tool with a single blind fillet, head and tail hatcheted (in Oxford style). Spine with five raised bands, tooled aside with blind fillets, the same at head and tail; endbands of blue thread; later spine label (gilt titling over brown morocco). Textblock trimmed and ?sprinkled. Endpapers comprising two leaves (pastedown and flyleaf) with two paper stubs. Chain mark at tail end of fore-edge on upper cover.
