Headmaster of Eton 1611-1620, his daughter Sarah, married first Nicholas Herbert, donor of the Great Salt, and then Matthew Barlow (1621-1701) a scholar from Eton at Kings College, Cambridge (Felllow of Kings College 1640-1645) and Vice Provost of Eton until 1664.
