Content (description)
The lock of hair is tied with a green thread and laid on a letter written in Italian by Mary Shelley to Vincent Novello recording the donation of her mother's lock to him on 11th March 1828. The items have been framed with the envelopes that originally held the letter and the lock. Mary Clarke annototated both the letter and the envelopes distinguishing Mary Shelley's writing from Vincent Novello's writing.
