Locket of Lord George Byron's hair authenticated by his sister Augusta Leigh on 19 April 1824, and three letters by Augusta Leigh to Henry Porter Smith who was the Head of a London Insurance Company. One of these letters kept in the original envelope.

Provenance: The locket and the letters were acquired from James Lees-Milnes in the late 20th century. The items are accompanied by a letter from Alma Pitt Jones to James Lees-Milne, dated 9th April 1970, recording that the locket was in possesion of her family.
