Content (description)
Album of letters, postcards and press cuttings describing the attempt made on the life of Queen Victoria by Roderick Maclean, and his subsequent trial in 1882, including a letter by a pupil at Eton whose father had been at Windsor station at the time of the attack. Maclean's attempt to shoot the Queen at Windsor station had been foiled by two Eton boys. Also includes other attempts of assaulting the Queen, views around Reading and cuttings on Rev. Alexander Dyce.
