Comments
Emma Foster (1830-1909) was the daughter of Makin Durham (1805-1882). She married John Foster (1825-1881) in 1849 and had 14 children. Their son Gordon Bentley Foster (1885-1963) married Helen Baring, niece of Sir Maurice Baring (1874-1945) who gave copies of his books and some books from his personal library to Eton School Library. This portrait might have come as part of Baring's donation.
