Relief: Apollo and Marsyas

Description
On left stands Apollo, nude and holding curved object (in fact lyre). A victory stretches out a garland to crown him. Between them on the ground reclines a river god(?) holding a pedum. On right is a scene called a crucifixion by Montelatici: a nude male is being set up on a cross by a nude youth far right, while a second youth kneels at the foot of the cross. This in fact represents Marsyas being strung upon the tree while the Scythian sharpens his knife.
