Description
The relief shows three frenzied maenads with billowing drapery. The one on right turns to right. She holds a tympanum in one hand, a fold of her garment in the other. The other two maenads dance to left, the one in the centre holding a thyrsus and the forequarters of a deer, the other carrying its hindquarters and holding aloft behind her head a curved blade.

This relief is very similar to Uffizi inv. 318, Mansuelli I no. 15, but according to the catalogue it comes from the Villa Medici.
