Description
In the centre stands Dionysus, half-draped and wearing a vinewreath, with his arm round Ariadne on left. She is draped and holds a thyrsus. From behind Dionysus, a bearded male, wearing a loin cloth, moves to right, where a satyr empties a wineskin into a garlanded krater, watched by a panther on right, sitting with its forepaw raised. Three satyrs stand in the background, one of them holding a jug and a cup. Two smaller satyrs approach from left, one blowing a trumpet. On far left two maenads move right, one playing crotola, the other carrying a vase. Then Pan, with a wreath across his torso and a skin tied round his waist, moves right but looks at the spectator. A maenad behind him in the background also looks at the viewer. A fourth maenad moves right, playing the tympanum by Ariadne.
