Description

Content (description)

At the bottom right a bearded river god reclines on rocks, water flowing from the urn beneath his elbow. In the centre on left Paris sits on a rocky mound. Oenone leans on his arm and points right to where an elaborate boat sails on waves, partly hidden behind rocks by Paris. The waves are separated from the river god by a horizontal line. A second line marks off the upper strip of the relief, where three buildings, each surrounded by a portico. stand on rocky ground.
