Content (description)
At bottom right a snake, coiled round a baby, rears up against two cloaked and helmetted warriors, who attack with Gorgon shields and raised spears. On the ground between the feet of the warrior in the foreground lies a fallen vase. On left stands Hypsipele in an attitude of distress. Top left is a tree and a pedimented building, set obliquely.
