Description
The cup stands on a foot and has high volute handles which have the form of claws at the rim and then are decorated with leafy motifs. They join the body at the top of a bearded mask, from which springs a horn-like volute above. A garland hangs from the volute and passes behind the acanthus-beard of the mask. Below the mask are flutings, which run into two central volutes. These support an inset square at the centre front, in which is inscribed a circle containing the portrait head of a man wearing a wreath in profile to right.
