Description
Content (description)
The urn is topped by two linked pediments side by side, formed of volutes, rosettes and palmettes. On the front a garland of leaves hangs from the horns of Ammon heads at the top corners. At the bottom two birds stand facing outwards, but turn their heads up to the garland. Over the garland two dolphins flank a cockleshell, in which is a woman's head. At top centre is a wide inscription panel, which reads VIX AN XX/ CORNELIAE ANTHUSAE/ CONIUGI CARISSIM/ L COMINIUS ARTEMIDOR.
