Description
The reliefs are those of a round base but drawn as if flat. On left a draped female sits to right but turns to left. She holds a cornucopia of fruit and holds out ears of corn in her left hand. Beneath her right elbow is a sphinx on a rectangular base, perhaps part of her seat. There are waves beneath the base. A draped youth and a bull stand in the background on the right of the female, and a draped bearded male walks to right carrying reeds. A male wearing a skirt stands on a small shallow boat on waves, holding a burning candelabrum. In the centre a male in a skirt stands in the waves and bends to right, where two crocodiles rise out of the waves towards him at the foot of a high staircase. In the background behind the bending male stand two bearded males, one draped, one wearing a skirt and carrying a basket on his head. The staircase leads to a tetrastyle temple right of centre, set obliquely, with a nude crouching figure in the pediment. In front of the side wall are a sphinx on a low base and a statue of a bearded male. On right a bearded river god reclines, gesturing and gazing to left. He holds a reed and leans against a large reed plant. In the waves far right is a crocodile.
