Content (description)

The groundline of the relief projects in a deep curve. In the centre is a a low candelabrum with a fire burning on top. On right stands a man in a toga holding incense over the candelabrum from the bow in his left hand. On left stands a priestess, who carries a lidded pot. Over her garments she wears a stole diagonally across her chest with the ends hanging from her left shoulder; it is ornamented, perhaps embroidered, with stars and crescent moons. Her hair is arranged in a tier of plaits at the front, beneath a headdress, which also bears a crescent moon. On the top border is part of an inscription: ..F GALATEA T...
