Description
Three nude winged putti hold two garlands of fruit with flying fillets. Over the garland on left two men, one nude, one draped, stand on right and confront a sphinx, which sits on a high rock on left. It waves a paw at them while it looks over its shoulder to left. Over the garland on right, Galatea, almost nude, rides through the waves to right on the back of a dolphin. On right Polyphemus, wearing a skin, sits on a rock mound and gestures to her. There is a sheep on the right by his seat, another grazes higher on left. At top left a river god reclines on rocks ( or clouds) with his arm on an over-turned urn from which flows water, holding a pedum against his shoulde. There is a tree on left by his knee.
