Description
Content (description)
On left an emperor sits on a stool covered with decorated cloths on a dais, holding a roll in one hand and gesturing to right. An advisor or attendant stands in the background on right and addresses him. On far left stands a soldier in armour. This part of the relief is not ancient; the rest is a fragment of a sarcophagus. On right a bearded barbarian warrior is forced to his knees in front of a burning altar by a soldier on left. A bearded soldier stands further left and a nude soldier stands behind the altar on right, his spear in front of the altar.
