On right a bearded emperor wearing armour sits to left on a stool with animal legs on a low dais. Behind him on right stands a soldier. In the centre a bearded barbarian kneels on the ground before him in an attitude of supplication. Three figures stand around the barbarian in the background: on left a soldier in armour, next a nude soldier and on right a draped female, whose hands are bound in front of her and who looks back over her shoulder.
