Description
The square altar has plain mouldings above and below the three main faces, each of which is decorated with a figure in relief. On the top are volutes which are decorated at the front with floral scrolls.
85: right side. A draped maenad dances to left on tiptoe, her back turned to the viewer, carrying a tympanum and thyrsus.
86: left side. A draped maenad, with one breast bared, dances to right on tip-toe, holding a tympanum and thyrsus.
87: front. A nude male moves left on rocky ground, holding up a dish of three fruits (?) on his left hand and pointing to left.
85: right side. A draped maenad dances to left on tiptoe, her back turned to the viewer, carrying a tympanum and thyrsus.
