Fa 3 Villa no.63
Description
On the lid of the urn are two pediments with a rosette at their junction and masks on acroteria at the corners. In each pediment two birds flank the bust of a child. On the body of the urn a large panel at top centre bears the inscription D M / C MINICIUS/ GELASINUS/ SIBI POSUIT. Beneath the panel two putti wrestle; a large leaf (palm?) lies between them. On right a putto stands watching, in front of a table on which stands a tall vase containing a leaf. A garland hangs over the vase. On far right stands a herm. On left a putto approaches carrying two leaves. A jug falls to the ground in front of him. Above him stands a very large jug, behind which are three leaves.
