Description
Content (description)
On the lid two masks with gaping mouths flank a pediment in which stands an eagle with outspread wings. Up each side of the front is a palm tree bearing leaves and fruit. From the leaves hangs a garland of leaves and berries in front of a large doorway in the centre. At each side of the doorway is a pile of different types of shield. At top centre over the door is a panel with the inscription D M / HOC IACET/ LUCIAEO.
