Description
On left a youth with a dog at his feet plunges his spear into the throat of a panther, which sinks to the ground. In the background a youth holds a spear and brandishes a rock, while his companion holds the bridle of a horse far left. In the centre a youth accompanied by Virtus and another youth on left rides to right brandishing his spear (now lost) at a lion which bounds at him from right. Another figure on horseback on right gestures to the lion; two youths stand on right behind it, one armed with a spear, the other with a staff. A deer, boar and dog are to be found right of centre on the groundline. Five trees grow in the background, including a palm tree in the centre.
