Description
At the top corners of the base are rams' heads, joined by a frieze of palmettes. At the bottom corners are the protomes of sphinxes with floral scrolls between them. The panel between these bands of decoration is occupied on each side by a putto flying along carrying a weapon or armour.
91: the putto flies right carrying a plumed helmet. This drawing gives the view of the whole base.
92: the putto flies right carrying a round shield.
