Description
94: front. The rectangular altar has bands of moulding above and below. On a projecting line stand three figures, all draped and with their heads covered, the outer figures turning to the centre. The figure on left is male and holds a roll, in the centre is a male holding a staff with a bird by his feet, and on right a female holds out a patera and a bowl full of small granules. Across the top of the relief is the inscription AUGUSTO M PLAUTIO SILVAN COS. A second inscription is in a tabula ansata beneath the projecting line: VS OLIASO D LUCILIUS D L SALVIUS L BRINNIUS L PRINCEPS L FURIUS L SALVIUS/ MAG VICI SANDALIARI
95: side. Two Lares wearing tunics and laurel wreaths stand on a projecting line and turn to one another. The one on left holds up a wolf-headed rhyton and a patera, the other a ram-headed rhyton and carries a basket like vase. Across the top is the inscription LARIBUS AUGUSTIS
96: side. On a projecting line stands a trophy on left. A winged Victory alights on right, holding a large round shield.
