Description
Content (description)
Ganymede, with a short cloak round his shoulders and a cap on his head, is carried upwards by an eagle with outspread wings. The eagle clasps him from behind round the hips and Ganymede turns his head to look at it. He holds his right arm out to the side and points upwards, while his left hand, by his side, points downwards. There is a suggestion of clouds in the background and mountains below.
