Description
a) The emperor, with curly hair and beard, turns his head slightly to his left. He wears a corselet, but it is almost hidden beneath his cloak, which is pinned on right shoulder.
b) The tall vase with knobbed lid and low foot stands in a niche. The broad high shoulder is decorated with convex fluting, which is separated by a plain band from the convex fluting on the long tapering body. Very angular handles with volutes on the inside rise vertically from the shoulder then join the lip.
On the back of this sheet is an unfinished drawing of a bridge over a river.
