Description
Young Hercules, nude and with a fillet round his short hair, wrestles with the Hydra, which is entwined round a tree trunk between his legs. Various serpent-like heads are visible and one human one, with its mouth open in agony. Hercules' left foot holds down one of the Hydra's coils, while he brandishes a burning torch at a coil held in his left hand.
