Sarcophagus: deeds of Hercules
assigned by cataloguer
Description
32: Five figures of Hercules are set closely side by side, three of them bearded. The deeds shown are not clear. On left is his victory over the Amazon, in centre he holds perhaps the leg of the hind. Right of centre three horses lie prostrate and there is a small barbarian figure in an attitude of submission. On right there is an armed warrior on the ground. The figure of a soldier far right is probably an addition.
