Content (description)
In centre, Hector's body is carried to left by two men. Five soldiers stand in the background. On right in front of the walls and gates of Troy, Andromache, supported by women, spreads her arms in mourning. Four other women and a boy are in mourning too. On left Priam, in Phrygian clothing, kneels before Achilles (of whom only one hand and one knee survive far left) while behind him come three Trojans carrying various vases. In the background stand three more Trojans and three Greeks far left by Achilles.
