The right part of the sarcophagus is missing, while the figure at the far left , a half-draped female who holds a torch and seems to be springing out of a boat is not original. In centre two nymphs with billowing drapery ride to right on the backs of tritons. A winged putto follows the couple on left. The triton of the couple on the right holds a lyre. On far right is triton of a third couple, facing left and cut by the border. A putto reaches towards him from the waves.
