Description

Content (description)

In centre stand the three divinities, each leaning on a staff, Jupiter nude and with his eagle standing on his right. The two Dioscuri flank this group. Each leading his horse to right. On far right Luna, her drapery billowing, drives her chariot downwards, but looks back over her shoulder to left. A putto flies over her horses. On left Sol rides up to right in his chariot, climbing over the reclining figure of Tellus. On far left are figures which are perhaps additions: far left Cupid and Psyche embrace, and then two water nymphs recline by a reed, the upper one turning to look right.
