Description
A daughter of Niobe crouches to her left, but turns her head up and back to look for her attackers. She is draped, but her garment, clasped on the shoulder, has slipped down her arm, leaving her shoulders bare. Her right hand is pressed to her breast, her left is raised in a gesture. This statue is very similar to one in the Louvre, which has two wings and is called Psyche: the wings could be a later addition to this Niobid.
