Description
In centre a vine grows round a tree trunk, with a profusion of grapes at the top. On left Silenus, with skin draped across him and wearing a vine garland, reaches up with one foot raised on the tree trunk to pick grapes. There is a shell-like bowl by his knee to hold the grapes. A child perches at the top of the tree with a basket. On right a male draped in skins is partly concealed by the trunk so that it is not clear what he is doing. A child bottom right offers grapes to a tiger; another bottom left holds leg of Silenus and drinks from a shell: he seems to be sitting on a tortoise. A snake rears up the trunk of the tree from a cluster of leaves. The rocky ground beneath the group has a grotesque head marked on the border at centre front.
