Description
Content (description)
The vase is decorated on its shoulder and lower body with fluting, and with a band of wave pattern around the upper body. In place of handles two tigers rear up on their hind legs on the band of wave pattern and rest their forepaws on the rim. On the lid squats a great cuckoo: its small foster parents feed it while one of their eggs hatched unheeded.
