Description

Content (description)

Youth wears over a tunic a 'breastplate' of thongs, between which is tucked a curved knife. He also has thongs around his upper legs and wears boots and a brimmed hat. In right hand he holds out an axe, with left he holds a hoe, which rests on the ground. A palm tree trunk grows behind his right leg. The statue of a charioteer has been restored as a farmer with farming implements.
