Description
On left figures emerge through an arch to the hunt. A bearded man stands on left with a knife in his belt, two men behind him in the background. A bearded man wearing a skin moves right preceded by Atalanta in boots and a tunic, carrying an axe on her shoulder (?). On right Meleager, backed up by the Dioscuri, faces the boar's attack, armed with a club and with a hound at his side. Remains of a tree trunk can be seen beneath boar's jaw. Far right a youth with a club attacks the boar from behind while a companion sinks to the ground wounded in the leg. An old man moves right but looks back to the boar. A rock flat over the boar partly hides three figures, two of whom brandish rocks.
