Description
On right Venus sits in front of curtain with putto by her side and bids farewell to Adonis as he leaves for the hunt with a bearded companion. In centre, a boar lurks beneath a rocky cave, with a dog on right Adonis sinks to ground wounded and his companion gestures in horror. One man stands on right behind cave, two hunters brandish stones in background. On left reunion of Venus and Adonis. They sit and embrace in front of a curtain, Adonis nude and wearing a garland. His dog sits at his feet, two women attend them.
